Cyclic load resistance
The cycling loading resistance of a pressure vessel can be enhanced by the application of ultrasonic peening in selected weld connections. One example of these locations are the nozzles welds.
One of the important reasons for pressure vessels failure is fatigue which can be originated as thermal fatigue, corrosion fatigue or mechanical fatigue.
